"No, no!" I said and took the darn thing home.
I'm no fixit man and am not normally great at repairing mechanical things but when I took it apart I saw a wire that looked like it needed to be stuck under a screw.
It's work just great for me for the last twenty years and you are the only other person that knows!

-|||gas stove and oven still works after 45 years|||A old fridge in the shed.. it is about 35 years old..|||our tv is nearly 20 years old and yes it still works. not good though we are fixing to trade it out pretty soon...|||I don't own it, since it came with the house I am renting, but the stove here is from the 30's or 40's I think. (too lazy to get up and go see what brand it is) But it has a warming drawer, oven, and four eyes. The large back eye slides down into the stove top to hold a stock pot and the control for it is different than the rest of the eyes. The eyes still work, but the element has stopped working for the oven. If I knew where to find a replacement part, I'm sure it would still work, too.
