Has anyone ever purchased a homeowners appliance insurance?

I'm not talking about extended warranties on appliances but rather a company that sells insurance that covers every major appliances in the home such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, central air conditioning, etc regardless of the age of the appliance or home. If so can you please recommend a reputable company you've had a positive experience with?|||AHS. We bought it for our rental property and our house. And it paid for itself time and time again. Costs approx. 300-400 dollars, and if something goes wrong, you make one phone call, and they set up the rest. You pay a 50 dollar deductible to the contractor that comes to fix it.|||First American Home Buyer at homewarranty.firstam.com.

We've used their company, and haven't had any problems.|||From everything I've read...extended warranty's are a rip off.|||We purchased a policy through our real estate agent when we were selling our last home. It was designed to be a selling point rather than as a money saver.

These can cost $400 to $500 and I doubt that for the average homeowner they are a good deal. You would be better off putting that money into a saving account and when an appliance breaks down, repair or replace from the saving account.

If you have a policy and make a claim, you don't have any say in who does the repair and seldom do they want to replace the item in question.

I suggest you get some quotes and see the cost for yourself
