My 12-year old daughter is most likely getting a Herbst appliance, but is a flute player. I'm concerned that the appliance will interfere.|||I haven't got a herbst appliance but i've got braces and i find it much easier to play flute with it! Apparentely things like that effect reed instruments more.|||Oh, bummer about the herbst. My friend had to have one when she was around 12 too, she wasn't too happy about it. However it was more annoying than painful. She was in band and played the clarinet. Took her a while to get used to it, but she was able to play.
