How do you make electic voltage adapt for appliance electricity amps wattage?

I have an electric hot water kettle from Great Britian. I want to use it on American soil. What adapters %26amp; transformers do I need to use in order for the appliance to work properly the way it is supposed to?|||It should work quit well on a 240v outlet. You would need only an adapter to get in to connect with outlet or put a new plug on the appliance. The 50 to 60 cycle difference in a purely resistance item like a hot water kettle will not matter.|||Most appliances over there are 240 volts, and ours are 120. Would cost a lot of money to have a special plug made for a water pot.|||Use the dryer electric outlet. That would be the cheapest solution. Bring an outlet from The UK that fits the plug you have. ~
