What range of Volts does the appliance need to have to work in India?

i live in the US. and i want to know what range of volts works in India. My dad said 220V but he wasn't sure.

if it is 220V does it mean that an appliance that has a range of 100-240V can work in india?

Thankss!|||all over india use 220 volt ac power|||Yes.. the range is 220 volts.. but still the appliances of lower of higher voltages can be used with the help of an adapter which you can get from any good electronics shop. It arranges the voltage as per requirements and ur appliance will work.. !!|||In India the voltages available are as follows:-

For single phase connection -- 220 VAC, 50 Hz cycle

For three phase connection -- 415 VAC, 50 Hz cycle

Milind|||Yes, they use 220v over there.

So all the devices have input marked 100 - 240V are OK.
