How do you install an appliance replacement cord on dishwasher?

I have a small dishwasher that has a green, black and white wire. The appliance replacement cord has 1 green wire and then 2 grey wires. Does it matter when I connect the two grey wires to the black and white? Will this cause issues? or does it not matter when you hook up to the black and white?|||no it doesnt matter|||There is a serious reason for the different colors. It could blow a fuse if you do it wrong. Why not call the manufacturer, look in the yellow pages for appliances, and call them. Of course everyone wants to make a 'buck', so they may want to send their repair man out to you.

Blow a fuse and make it worthwhile.|||Keep the green ones together, the other two don't matter.

(turn power off first)|||the green is the ground. the gray wires could be interchanged and it will work but if the plug is polarized (one prong wider than the other) than the proper hookup would be: the black wire of the dishwasher would attach to the wire that is from the side of the plug with the narrower of the flat prongs and the wider of the flat prongs would be hooked to the white wire on the dishwasher and the center is the ground
