How do I push the palatal spreading appliance back onto my daughter's tooth? Our Dr. is out of town.?

The Appliance slipped off of her tooth in the middle of the night and our orthodontist is out of town until the 30th! We called and talked to another orthodontist and she told us to push it back up. We tried but can't make it move. Any suggestions?|||you cant your dr will do it for you
