Is there a more recently invented commonly used kitchen appliance than the microwave?

I don't mean things like george foreman grills or flavor wave ovens which I don't consider to be commonly used.





Also, what and when was the most recently invented commonly used kitchen appliance before the microwave?|||the Convection oven is the newest kitchen gadget. Commercial kitchens have had them for quite a while but they are becoming the thing to have in home kitchens now. They are lovely to have, no, I don't have one yet. Looking at one to replace my gas oven that isn't working currently.





before the microwave, electric mixers were the most fabulous thing in kitchen help! First ones were stand mixers then we got the little light weight hand mixers. Wow!! didn't have to build muscle in beating arm any more. And we all had lots of arm muscles from beating things with the old crank mixers and before that with whisks and forks and wooden spoons.





by the way!! the wooden spoon is still the most used piece of equipment. It works for beating cakes and children, equally well.|||There are a lot of people who dont use microwaves because they see it as disrespectful towards food. It makes sense; they can think what they want.





I would say coffee maker but that is old as dirt. We are in a period in which we are not advancing, or any advancements are slow and useless.





Before the microwave, the oven no doubt was used the most; it probably still is by older people and those people i mentioned above.|||I can't think of any actually new ones. Lots of changes in existing ones. Blenders for instance, now come in small serving size with containers to go etc etc. I don't know when the blender was invented.|||There are lots of choices, but these are mine:
